1977 Sbarro Rolls Royce Camargue

This Rolls was built for the King of Morocco by famed Swiss designer Franco Sbarro. It was used by the royal family as a hunting car, in particular hunting with falcons. The windscreen folds down electronically, there is a hand rail along the back and the interior is orange leather with blue piping. The roof looks awful but there would not be a lot of use for that while hunting in Morocco! The price is suitably crazy and the market for this must be tiny, but it’s still a lot of fun!

One of around 20 Alpine V6s converted into a cabriolet by Pahnhenrich is for sale in Germany. This one has had a lot of work done but still needs more to be made really good (for example the huge rear tyres are 7 years old). This one was owned by by a Renault dealer until the current owner bought it 3 years ago.

This is a Keinath KC5 Opel Monza Cabriolet, one of only 144 built between 1984 and 1986. It is for sale in Germany on behalf of its UK owner – we expect he rightly assumes there is a much bigger market for this classic Opel in it’s homeland than the UK. This example lived some of its life in a museum and has always been cherished. It is said to be in ‘very very good condition’. As with a lot of after-market conversions, the lowered roof sits pram-like on the rear of the car, but the car does have a certain elegance and reeks of the 80’s with it’s colour-coding and actually quite subtle body-kit. With only 44,000 miles on the clock and a full dealer and specialist service history, it is hard to fault. It comes with the incredibly rare hardtop which looks to also be in as-new condition. This good-looking Camaro has only 8490 miles on the clock and is said to be like new inside and out. It comes with service history, but as this is an imported vehicle we would need to see lots of documents to support the mileage claim. Nice colour and great wheels, the hood and rear screen look fresh and new as well. It’s the 5.0litre RS model, so this one has the power, the looks, and has been well loved.

Can a W107 SL ever be worth over £70k? This 1733 mile example is as close to a new SL as you will find, and it could conceivably cost as much as this to properly restore a poor example. But still, £70k?

This one is a 300SL, so cannot even boast the 5.0litre V8 of the range topping 500. Still, it looks fantastic and if these ever reach the financial heights of it’s forefather, the Pagoda SL, then we may well look back at this opportunity with deep regret!

And now for something completely different. This Sierra is one of 2 Cabrios built, based on the Dodge Aspen Coupe platform from the same period. This example was delivered to the Swiss publisher Frey de Berne, the other is in the Monteverdi museum. It’s covered 24,000km (15,000 miles) and is said to be in excellent condition. Crazy money for what is a plain looking car on an unexciting chassis, it’s no where near as glamorous as the Monteverdi’s that proceeded it that are now fetching top money.

This sweet Alpina convertible E30 for sale in Switzerland might not be all it seems. The ad calls it a ‘kit’ so the Alpina part might just be the pretty bits and not the oily bits. To be fair, it is advertised as a BMW not an Alpina and the engine bay does look standard 325i. 123,000km on the clock (76,428 miles) and looking in fine shape, it is on sale on behalf of a customer with a full set of documents and wears winter tyres. It is also a manual which will suit it’s sporty intentions much better.

Wolfrace Sonic

Here it is, the almost mythical Wolfrace Sonice twin engine supercar from 1981.

The car has been in the ownership of the same family since it was sold when Wolfrace wheels went into liquidation around 30 years ago.

The car cost £100,000 to build and was built as a promotional tool. Boy did it work – does any car fan who was a kid in the 80s not know it? The car was being stripped for restoration before work stopped due to personal circumstances, and is now finally for sale to be lovingly restored by it’s next owner.
