For sale in the USA is this unique Scaglietti bodied 1959 Corvette for $995,000 (£650,000).

Financed by Gary Laughin, a Texan oil man, in the late ’50’s. 3 cars were planned to be built but this was the only one completed. Scaglietti created this car whilst making the Ferrari 250 Tour-de-France, hence the similar looks.

The Corvette style grille is a nice touch as is the manual gearbox. Aesthetically the shape is not as pleasing as period Ferrari’s, so we can’t help thinking this is too pricey for what essentially is a dressed up ’59 Corvette.
