1973 Citroen GS Birotor

Where: atelier-automobile.de, Berlin, Germany

A very special car in a very special location – the Classic Remise Berlin is home to this prototype Citroen GS Birotor. This was Citroen’s foray into Wankel engine design which like Mazda and NSU before it resulted in dramatic and crippling unreliability. This was so bad for Citroen that they tried to buy as many of these cars back from their owners as they could, making them very rare now. This is one of the first prototypes and has been completely mechanically restored despite covering less that 1000km since new. The exterior has been left as original to keep it’s impossible to reproduce prototype finish. Expensive but am almost unique piece of Citroen history.

Price: €48,000 (£34,700)
