We can understand the excitement around the discovery of an Italian exotic or a rare slice of American muscle, but we also get excited about discovering the more mundane. This 1981 B210 SL coupe should have been cast away to the scrap heap like 99% of its ilk, but against the odds it has survived. And we love it for that. We also love the deeply retro looks from the stripes to the 3 tone brown interior. No price is indicated, but surely $6000 would buy this cracking little Datsun?

1972 Datsun 1200

This funky little car has been completely restored by a Datsun dealer in Portugal and many of the parts used were new old stock! As far as we are concerned, all that’s missing are some correct wheel hubs then we would lower it slightly to get a cooler stance. A great starter classic for someone.

Once again it’s a car with a case of TMD (Too Many Doors)! Even so, this highly original 510 as only 42,000km on the clock and presents really well in blue and black. Not sure we could bring ourselves to modify this one, it even comes with original chrome wheel trims in great condition.

It’s the Japanese car everyone seems to want, the Bluebird 2 door coupe, known as the SSS. This one is for sale in Toyko and wont be to everyone’s taste, but it’s easy to change the wheels and the ride-height. Not much else is known as its one of those indecipherable Japanese classifieds, but the price seems reasonable.

This cool little Datsun race car for sale in New Zealand looks like it could be a great project for someone to get it to a race-winning standard. It has a CA18DET Turbo engine and Nissan S14 5-speed gearbox. It needs fine-tuning to make it competitive but no matter what, you’ll be having fun!

1976 Datsun 120A Coupe

It’s Datsun day at PistonJuice! We’ve found a very rare 120A Coupe in Harstad, Norway for sale for £4850 that is on its second owner. He bought the car recently from the first owner, has had it re-sprayed and mechanically fettled. Its unusal to see these rust-free but from the photos it looks incredibly solid. It’s traveled 147,000km in its life (91,000 miles).

1968 Datsun Fairlady Roadster

These cute little Datsun roadsters are rarely seen outside Japan and the USA – this one is in Holland. It was treated to a body-off restoration and has been maintained by the garage selling the car since 1994. We would lose the wire wheels and go back to steels with hub-caps, and clean up the front and back by losing the extra lights. We’d also get rid of the luggage rack and over-riders on the bumpers if we could, to get this looking as stock as possible.

This ad is a testament to how difficult it is to find 2 door Datsun 510’s, and we could well be looking at this car soon thinking it was a bargain. There’s no doubt this example would be a big project for someone, the seats, steering wheel, in fact all the after market items look wrong. So long as it’s not rusty then this might be one of the only chances you’ll get to find one of these (in 2 door form) in Europe for quite some time.

Great modified Datsun 1200 fitted with a Volvo 850 T5 Turbo engine! Extensively modified to be an ice-racer, this one will need a good looking-over to check the workmanship.
