1965 Datsun Silvia CSP311

Regular readers will remember the gold Silvia we featured a few weeks ago – well this is the second car found in the same barn in Australia and sold on eBay. Both of these cars are now on a ship bound for Germany where they will be sold to the highest bidder. Those in the know believe these are only second to the Toyota 2000GT as the most desirable Japanese collector car – and rightly so as these were hand built and only around 550 were built with only around 150 thought to survive. This one requires full restoration. Mechanically these are similar to the Datsun Fairlady Roadster so parts are available, restoration to the body, interior and trim will be more difficult, however. As a 1972 Skyline GTR ‘Hakosuka’ sold at RM auctions for $242,000 this year, we think whoever takes this on will have a very fine payday in a few years time when every big collector must have one.

1961 Chevrolet Corvette

This Corvette has been in a barn in Ohio for the last 23 years and is mostly original. The hubcaps and ignition covers are stored in the boot and the owner believes the engine is the original 283. The 3 speed box was converted to a 4 speed Hurst shifter in the late 60s. Under the dust this looks like a really solid, straight car.

1945 Fiat 500 Topolino

This 500 is pretty far gone but these cars can go for up to €15,000 when restored so might be worth a punt for someone? Reportedly it has only 42,000km on the clock, and the owner has the docs to pass on the original number plates.

1975 Datsun 120Y

This cool little Datsun race car for sale in New Zealand looks like it could be a great project for someone to get it to a race-winning standard. It has a CA18DET Turbo engine and Nissan S14 5-speed gearbox. It needs fine-tuning to make it competitive but no matter what, you’ll be having fun!

1963 Renault 4 Super

The Renault 4 Super was the ‘luxury’ model in the R4 range, and came with this fold down rear hatch instead of the usual hatchback. The glass rear window folded into the bottom hatch like an old American Station Wagon. This is an early example with the smaller front grille, to add more interest to R4 fans. This one needs a new chassis (!) but that work apparently is included in the price.

1970 Datsun 510

This ad is a testament to how difficult it is to find 2 door Datsun 510’s, and we could well be looking at this car soon thinking it was a bargain. There’s no doubt this example would be a big project for someone, the seats, steering wheel, in fact all the after market items look wrong. So long as it’s not rusty then this might be one of the only chances you’ll get to find one of these (in 2 door form) in Europe for quite some time.

1972 Saab Sonett

Here’s a fun project for someone – one of only 8368 Saab Sonnet IIIs made in the 70’s. This one is a Californian import so theoretically should be rust free, but the sun has had quite an impact on its condition. It’s one of the rarer, small bumpered cars that changed to big, federal bumpers later in ’72 and looks all the better for it. This one has only done 18,671km (11,600 miles) but they were clearly hard ones! Great 70’s colour, though.

1973 Datsun 1200

Great modified Datsun 1200 fitted with a Volvo 850 T5 Turbo engine! Extensively modified to be an ice-racer, this one will need a good looking-over to check the workmanship. However, it looks great and we bet it sure is fast! Check out the roof-mounted air box! Has been magazine featured in Norway, too.

1963 Auto Union SP1000

Only around 5000 of these fabulous little Thunderbird clones were built, and this one is a bit special. It’s a one-owner car with only 35,000km on the clock (21,750 miles). It needs work but at this price it is a steal – these normal sell for around £15k in A1 condition. We expect this one will be snapped up very quickly.

1964 Volkswagen T1 Pick-Up

This old T1 has clearly been laid up for many years, but it has been garaged and is claimed to be rust free. The ad claims one owner and 150,000km (93,000 miles). It needs a complete mechanical overhaul but we would keep the body as is and have us a bad-ass rat rod custom pick-up to maintain the impossible to replicate patina.
